OUR VISION: "BECOMING LIKE JESUS"!

As a congregation, we are growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our aim: to lift up Jesus as together we are changed from "one degree of glory to another."

Three foundational principles of our vision:

Jesus is the Head of our church!

"Jesus has been made head over all things for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." (Ephesians 1:22-23)

Jesus is the Head of those who worship here at Decatur. Because we are His body, and because He purchased us with His blood, we wear His name. We look to Him as Lord and Savior, and to His Word for authority in our lives in all that we do. Our Elders oversee our spiritual wellness and our ministers proclaim and teach the Word.

We strive to build the Lord's church in Decatur Alabama!

We offer the Decatur area a place to worship God in spirit and truth. We are a growing group of Christians that strive to worship God as prescribed in the New Testament. We see ourselves on a journey as we strive to live our lives centered on Jesus Christ always keeping heaven as our goal. You are welcome here as we work and worship together.

As God's servants, we accept stewardship as a responsibility!

"As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." (1 Peter 4:10)

As Jesus came to serve, not to be served, we strive to be of like mind. Our aim is to be faithful stewards of the gifts imparted for ministry to each of us. We seek to build each other up, and to stir each other up to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24). We do this in our times of worship, study, fellowship, and through outreach to the community we live in. Because the Lord has equipped us with everything we need in this life, leading towards both Godliness and service, we seek to grow and help each other walk in this reality.
