About Us

About Us

♦     We believe in one God whose fullness the scriptures describe as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

♦     We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, came to earth and lived a perfect life to reveal the loving nature of God the Father, died as the complete sacrifice for sin, and was raised from the dead by the power of God for the purpose of bringing forward the plan of salvation. We believe Jesus is the only source of eternal salvation.

♦     We believe sin is universal, every person sins and this separates them from God. Each human being is personally accountable to God for his or her sin. Because of this our fellowship is dedicated to teaching the good news (gospel) about Jesus and God’s mercy and grace.

♦     We believe that we are saved by God’s grace through faith. This means that salvation is God’s free gift to anyone. Salvation is not attainable by human effort or merit. Receiving God’s free gift of salvation involves a faith that shows itself through obedience as described in the scriptures. To accept God’s grace one must hear the word of God; believe openly; confess their faith that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; turn from their life of sin; and be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins.  Then they must continue on living a faithful life patterned after Christ.

♦     We believe that once we have followed the steps to salvation as prescribed in God’s word one is added to the church; collectively referred to as the Family of God, a royal priesthood, or the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is Head of the church.

♦     We meet each week to worship our Lord and to encourage each other, as we seek to live our daily lives in His service.

♦     We are an independent body of believers who accept the Bible as the inspired word of God. We claim to follow no human creed or doctrine: but instead seek to pattern our life and worship according to the New Testament.

♦     We go simply by the name Christians, which is one of the names of the followers of Christ, mentioned in the New Testament. We take seriously our call to be imitators of Christ.

♦     Our continuing quest is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength.

♦     We believe Jesus will return at God’s appointed time to claim His bride, the church. Both the living and dead in Christ will be raised to give an account of their lives and receive their rewards.
